Join Paranormal Research York as we investigate the enigmatic building that is Jacob’s Well. This venue has never been investigated publicly, but don’t let that fool you, this place is haunted!
The building was built In the 15th century as a house in Trinity Lane, Micklegate, York and is now known as Jacob’s Well. It has had many uses including lodgings for monks and an Inn.
Join Paranormal Research York as we investigate over two nights to find out who or what haunts this mysterious building.
Holy Trinity Priory was established around 1100 by Benedictine monks from France. Jacob’s Well was built on the edge of the Priory precinct around 1474 as a lodging chamber for chantry priests. In 1480 the chantry priests chanted Mass for the souls of the dead. These priests were housed in tenements which have stood for over 500 years in Trinity Lane, the building now known as Jacob’s Well.
The house became an Inn in the 1600’s and in 1749 the Inn was licenced and became Jacob’s Well. As well as an Inn it was a coach-masters premises until 1815.
During our first private investigation at Jacob’s Well, we heard footsteps on the stairs, unexplained knocking and disturbances in the upper rooms, and all this during a daytime visit!
This building has not yet been publicly investigated – what will we find in this historic building? Come and find out!
