Coming in 2021, watch the website for details on this most active of theatres in York.
The Grand Opera House, Clifford Street, York
This is an interactive event and you will get to try the activities for yourselves - you will be involved in the investigation as much as you dare be!
The Grand Opera House now stands. In 450AD a nunnery stood on or around the site. It was originally built as a Corn Exchange and warehouse in 1868 and was subsequently converted into a Theatre opening in 1902.
In 1958 the Theatre was reconstructed, and was used for Roller Skating, Dancing, Bingo and Wrestling.
In 1989 the Theatre had a reprieve from all the Roller Skating and Bingo when it was restored back to live Theatre.
This building stands in a truly historic part of York - it has never before been investigated and from our initial walkarounds, is proving to be highly active.
Join us on Friday 13th for what we hope will be a fantastic interactive night of ghost hunting, where spirits of former employees, actors and workers will hopefully join us!
